Story Movie

He dreamed of continuing the family tradition and dedicating his life to serving his country. He believed unreservedly in the U.S. government and supported the anti-terrorist program. In the early days of his career in the intelligence services, no one, not even he, could have predicted that it would be he, Edward Snowden, who would make the biggest revelation in world history, releasing secret documents concerning the total surveillance of US citizens and citizens of other countries. Having opened the world's eyes to the truth, he forever closed the door to a happy future for himself: he gave up his career, his beloved girlfriend and his homeland, which called him a traitor ...

Review 4K Movie

I have always considered Oliver Stone to be a very intelligent director, and his new film Snowden exceeded all my expectations.

Making such a film was a very bold and powerful decision, as it shows America in a different light, revealing a rotten system that breaks people and reveals new details to ordinary mortals. Not everyone is aware of what the State Department is doing, and Oliver has brilliantly accomplished his task, showing the truth and creating a true masterpiece. That's how it turned out for me.

Edward Snowden is a very strong, brave, and courageous person who went all the way and sacrificed everything for the sake of truth and freedom, who could not remain silent seeing what was happening in his beloved country. It is very interesting to observe how his views change. At first, he is so devoted to his country, believes in his government, defends their convictions, and does not even believe the girl he loves when she tries to tell him about Bush's policies and his misdeeds. But everything changes in this character when he sees US policy with his own eyes, namely that terrorism is just a cover, and that the main thing for the US is total control, especially economic control.

I am grateful to Oliver Stone for his courage, that a man as popular as he is took it upon himself to make a film showing the US leadership in a negative light. There is a little bit about Bush and Obama here, showing officials who hide their atrocities to the last, who carefully control everything and watch everyone, and who don't give a damn about ordinary people.

I really liked Ed, I liked his determination, I liked his struggle, his desire to see things through to the end. He lived and, I think, still lives for his cause, which means a lot to him. The film has a very powerful ending, where I enjoyed Ed's excellent speeches about freedom, the government, and people — it was delightful.

I also liked the beginning of the film. Ed's military service was short, but the moments in the army were very impressive.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was just perfect in the role of Ed. His acting in this film is simply top-notch. I've seen very few interviews with Edward Snowden, but Joseph managed to portray him almost exactly, with very similar facial expressions and other things. He performed brilliantly, and I really liked the scenes with Lindsay.

Shailene Woodley was simply incomparable in the role of Ed's girlfriend. No matter what happened in Ed's life, she was always very reliable, devoted, and very loving. For girls like that, it's worth doing anything.

Nicolas Cage—it was so nice to see the old man back in action, and in such a serious film. He didn't have much screen time, but Nicolas was very good.

Timothy Olyphant—I haven't seen him on the big screen in a long time. It was a typical role for him. I liked his performance.

I really liked the film; it touched my soul and charmed me. I wish there were more truthful films. In addition to its truthfulness, this film is an excellent motivator for taking certain actions. It motivates you to fight, to not be afraid, to achieve your goals, and to demand that certain people do what they are supposed to do. It's a film about everyone's responsibility. It's a film about freedom and about how one man broke a rotten system.
