Frank Ebegneil managed to work as a doctor, a lawyer, and a pilot on a passenger airline, all before reaching full adulthood at the age of 21. A master at deception and cheating, he also had a knack for forging documents, which eventually earned him millions of dollars in fake checks. FBI agent Carl Hanratty would give anything to capture Frank and bring him to justice for his deeds, but Frank is always one step ahead of him, forcing him to continue the chase.

Catch Me If You Can is a wonderful example of narrative cinema that draws you in not with flashy images and lots of action, but with a stunning story featuring vivid characters and dialogue that simply won't let you look away from the screen.

The plot centers on the personal story of young con artist Frank Abagnale Jr., which is based on a real person and the events that happened to him. The young man, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, who has taken on many guises and lives life to the fullest, wins over the audience despite his illegal activities. However, his “opponent,” Carl Genetti, an FBI agent specializing in financial fraud, is also charming in the performance of Tom Hanks.
The film is wonderful in that there are no good or bad guys in it. There are simply people, each with their own values and beliefs, who understand and accept each other's values and beliefs. Neither Carl nor Frank are antagonists here, and in general, the film is not about that at all. Catch Me If You Can is simply a first-class story of one man's life, excellently written and excellently acted.

There's no need to even mention the acting, as the names already speak for themselves. In addition to this, it's worth noting that the film is beautifully directed and shot. The frames are rich in detail and movement, so there's no fatigue from watching it.

Catch Me If You Can is an excellent example of, let's say, conversational cinema, where dialogue and characters take priority, and everything else comes after. And looking at some recent “intellectual” projects, in which talking heads with minimal staging tell each other dreary things for ten minutes, I want to point their creators to films like this and say, “This is what you were trying to shoot should look like!”
