Cellist Daigo is left without a job. Together with his wife, he moves from the metropolis to his native provincial town, where he is offered a job in a certain agency, as if it were a tourist agency. However, it turns out to be a funeral parlor, and Daigo has to wash the bodies of the deceased, dress them up and prepare them for the transition to a better world.

This is a wonderful film. Films like this are worth admiring, you want to see more of them and you want to watch them again...

A film about life and death. And that's normal—death is natural and no one can escape it, so there's no need to be afraid. It's amazing how much meaning is hidden in one small film... It touches on so many moral issues—life and death, love, dreams and goals in life, the problem of fathers and children, and the problem of mutual understanding in society.
This is the story of a man, or rather, the story of his life... because it fully reveals his experiences, feelings, character, dreams, and problems... He dreamed of playing in an orchestra, but fate took him down a completely different path... he began to perform burial rites, which was considered an undignified profession. Although everyone whose deceased relatives he served was very grateful to him, the rest turned away from him - those who had not been touched by death.

I don't think it's worth revealing the whole plot, because those who are interested are better off watching it and drawing their own conclusions. But I recommend everyone watch it. It is a calm and balanced film, full of emotions and feelings. Only the heartless will remain untouched.
