It turns out that surviving on the battlefield is much easier than in postwar Los Angeles. World War II veteran Easy Rawlins has lost his job and may soon lose his roof over his head. So when he is offered to play the role of a private detective and find a mysterious beauty, Easy immediately agrees.

100 dollars for such a simple case is more than a bargain. However, dying for $100 was not part of his plans. The investigation leads Rawlins into the unpredictable world of big politics, where human life is not worth anything - he could not assume that the real war will start for him after the war.

The Devil in the Blue Dress, a fairly typical detective with all the laws of the genre. As a consequence, it is quite an interesting and attractive film. The picture starts as if narrated by the main character, and the voice-over accompanies us throughout the film, mostly his thoughts.

Easy Rawlins, the character played by Denzel Washington, quite unexpectedly loses his job, and just as unexpectedly finds it, but only in the role of a private detective. There is no way out, debts on the mortgage oblige to find at least some money, or lose the house, and the house for our hero is all his. But getting involved in this investigation, he had no idea what a simple search for an unknown girl could lead to.

To be honest, the soundtrack was not memorable at all, I was too carried away by the dialogues and actions on the screen. The whole mystery story is literally unraveled by thread by the protagonist, which makes the movie incredibly interesting.

Of course, the credit for the movie holding it together is Denzel Washington's acting, he plays a former military man here, but he does not look invincible, he will not give offense, but he will not kill or beat a man just like that. He is brave and decisive, but gentle at the same time.

The main surprise was the appearance of Don Cheadle, he is a daredevil, he does things first and thinks later. Impulsive Mouse (that's the name of Easy's friend) will be remembered for a long time, a very important character for the movie, he cheekily and without question brings his charisma to everything that happens on the screen.

In conclusion, I would like to say that this crime detective will find its viewer, it has everything, and riddles, and murders, and opening cards. A pretty interesting main character, as well as secondary characters, there are funny moments (as a man cutting down trees everywhere). I would also like to mention the stylistics of the film, this entourage of the 40th years, something bribes you, and I think you will be satisfied after watching this movie.
