The American village of Midwich is visited by aliens. Under their influence, the villagers suddenly fall into a long sleep. As a result of the aliens' visit, several of the villagers give birth to children who resemble each other exactly nine months later, at the same hour.

The grown-up babies differ from ordinary children by their pale appearance, they have platinum hair and cobalt-colored eyes, besides they are smarter than their peers, but do not show any emotions. The strange children bring the villagers only misfortune and frighten even their own parents: they can read minds and have unusual mental properties....

Once again aliens are trying to take over. This time, in the American village of Midwich, during a total swoon, virtually the entire female population becomes pregnant at the same time. Those women who gave birth, got into sons (or daughters) with white hair, developed intelligence, hypnotic gaze and paranormal abilities. On top of that, the children are alien to any emotions and feelings, making them perfect killing machines.

The government decides to observe the children, for which they are constantly examined and compared to previous failed alien invasion experiments. The kids are constantly killing someone, bringing terror to the village. The actors, by the way, are really great at acting, despite the horrible wigs and the peculiar mechanical manner of moving in goose-stepping pairs.

Really, good work. Somewhat reminiscent of 'The X-Files' and the eternal investigations of the hairy agent Mulder about the government conspiracy regarding contacts with aliens and experiments on them, but, at the same time, an independent and atmospheric thriller, keeping in suspense from beginning to end.
