In articles about the movie 'Devil', the name M. Night Shyamalan is mentioned and examples of his success are given. Perhaps it is even fashionable to mention this mishap. But everyone forgets to pay tribute to the fact that his movies and scripts, even if not very successful (although you can argue here) make you think. Not only over the plot development, detective mystery, but also to think in general.

There are dynamics in the articles about this movie, about the ending, the finish, the denouement. Don't think about those things when you watch 'The Devil'. I do not see in it a loud ending, or something extraordinary, but I also do not see a formulaic, stagnant. Everything is just right, everything is just right for this category.

At the same time, it's not an ordinary horror movie. As I said, the movie makes you think, evaluate yourself and look inside your soul, turn to face your conscience, and remember about evil, about payback.

The successful combination of detective background with a mystical basis and a stepped plot, makes the picture not only suitable for viewing, but distinguishes it from the general series of those tapes that are devoted to the theme of unclean. Strangely enough for the characters do not have to worry, which adds pluses. If emotions and there is that to the investigator, and duty. But they are out of the plan. Consciousness free from experience, tries to solve the detective problem, but what is a full-fledged detective, for mysticism taken in earnest strongly ruins its foundations. And the plot goes smoothly, and does not stray a step.

The very essence of the title of the movie is not explicit, hides and reminds of itself every minute. It is the introduction, the words of the characters, the events, the shots, and of course the music. Taking on an indistinct form, but in the results it seems much more real and terrifying, so that it tickles the nerves.

The moral is in place. A small but decisive detail is also in place, the mentioning of which may even somehow push the denouement and may spoil the impression. It is not explicitly revealed, but touching it pleased me.

The opening credits, for some reason, reminded me of 'Mirrors', although there is nothing in common, but, for the first time, I saw a movie where the credits carry a semantic load, or rather emphasize it.

The screen time is just right, although it could have been a bit longer.
