Tom Witzki did not believe in hypnosis and theories about the hidden reserves of the subconscious mind. But one day he had the chance to experience it for himself. After Tom was jokingly hypnotized at a party, his life became a tangle of strange contradictions and terrible events that had to be experienced to escape from the claws of the surrounding nightmare.

At a time when Japanese horror movies were not so popular and ghosts with black hair were not yet known in America, a movie “Stir of Echoes” appeared. Close in content to the gorgeous “The Sixth Sense” Shyamalan, but far from the tension of the atmosphere and originality of the ending.

But still the story of a simple guy who underwent a terrible hypnosis session and discovered the gift of clairvoyance, refers viewers to the distant 80's to King's horror film “Dead Zone”. Actually the atmosphere during the “echo” will be similar. This is very good. Ghosts though not a lot, but they scare with their unexpected appearance.

Unfortunately, all the supernatural in the movie does not get the proper development. That's why it could not become as popular as '6th Sense'. Figuring out who is to blame is not difficult. Even without looking at all the wisecracking mysticism. But to follow the madness of Kevin Bacon is very interesting.
