The girl Scottie Parker arrives at the university later than the other students, so she doesn't get a place in the student dormitory. Of course, one could argue about the genre classification. But we won't argue, okay, let's get straight to the point. The film gives the impression of being encapsulated in the spirit of the 70s, with all the cool stuff that accompanies it on its way to the viewer. Barbara Steele is there, Steadicams are there, the characteristic soundtrack is there. The hairstyles, the clothes—everything is from there, from a bright past without globalization and the internet.

That's why I, as someone who really loves the style of films from those years, liked the picture. A miraculously surviving germ “not from here.” Delicious cinematography, which many authors are now trying to imitate, recalling the long-forgotten and overused formulas of the last century, a non-trivial approach to the script (not just young people and a maniac, but rather a “creative variation on a theme” in terms of how the action develops and how it is presented by the creators). The cute main character in knee-high boots and a pageboy hairstyle (from the movie “Buki,” by the way) holds up pretty well on screen, a character you can empathize with, which is an essential feature of a slasher film that seeks to captivate skeptics who are not preoccupied with murders and therefore do not want to spit at the ceiling in between them. Viewer participation is necessary, and as I see it, this is not a problem here.

The film does not break any records in terms of murders (remembering the scene from the cult parody Hot Heads 2, yeah), but they are staged well, without excessive bloodshed... yet effectively. In the style of the first Friday the 13th films. The denouement is intriguing, with a hint of drama and... a dozen thrillers from the 60s, which is not a bad thing. Tradition is good when it is good - you can't argue with that. The film is not overly complicated creatively - don't expect Carpenter-esque sophistication (in terms of quality of execution and artistic flair) - we're not going to catch up or overtake. But as pure, crystal-clear, unclouded entertainment, it's not bad. The casting of the supporting characters, as well as the direction, may raise certain questions, but... hell, it's the 70s, it's fun, it's grind. I can recommend it to fans.
