Story Movie

In a small American town, several teenagers have been brutally murdered. Veteran police officer John Brady, himself the father of a high school student, believes the crimes are linked to a research laboratory conducting questionable medical experiments...

Review 4K Movie

An Australian horror film shot in New Zealand featuring American actors (you can catch a glimpse of a young Day Young here). It all starts off like a standard slasher movie—and a good one at that. Someone wearing a Thor Johnson mask (that bald actor from Ed Wood’s films) is slaughtering high school students. He breaks into a house, then slaughters a couple right in the middle of a party.

The father of one of the teenagers—Michael Murphy—half-heartedly investigates the case, but for the most part, he’s just waiting for the cool feds from Chicago to show up and solve everything for him. Meanwhile, his son, Dan Shore, wants to make some money and decides to participate in a major university’s scientific experiments—brain experiments—but they pay well.

As it turns out, the scientists use these experiments to brainwash the kids who agreed to participate in the research, and those kids then go on to kill the children of the city’s most influential figures—I don’t know why. That’s the problem with the movie, whose actual title is *Strange Behavior*. Very strange behavior on the part of the scientists—what did it give them? What was the benefit? The first part of the movie is good, where the teenagers are killed. There’s a gruesome scene where an eye is pierced with a syringe needle. But it would have been better if the movie had just stayed a slasher film with an unknown maniac, rather than this plot development.
