Review 4K Movie

1990. Fulci, a director of gory horror films, begins to suffer from strange hallucinations. One moment he thinks his neighbor is about to cut him to pieces with a chainsaw; the next, the meat he eats every day at the café next to his studio makes him feel nauseous. As a result, he turns to a psychologist, who turns out to be something of an Italian Hannibal Lecter. He hypnotizes Fulci and then begins committing bloody murders, trying to frame the famous director.

Such is the premise of this most unusual film by the great director. But unusual doesn’t mean high-quality. Nearly half the film consists of footage from the large-scale project *Lucio Fulci Presents*, which has been released over the past few years. These include Beanci’s *The Massacre*, Lucchetti’s *Blood Psychosis*, and two films by Lucio Fulci himself: *Touch of Death* and *Ghosts of Sodom*. As a result, the film serves as a wrap-up to the series.

The film’s main flaw is that there are too many clips from other films. On the plus side, I’d note that the line between reality and the director’s hallucinations is very thin. It’s not always clear where reality ends and fiction begins.

I’d recommend this film first and foremost to fans of Lucio Fulci. Everyone else can watch it if they’d like, but some parts might be confusing.
