"Saw" is a psychological thriller with a riddle, filmed for very little money, but this does not affect it in any way, and it is also a new genre in the history of cinema. Saw is not the founder of this new genre, Cube was the first to be so successful, and Saw was a very successful continuation of the idea. After Cuba and Saw began to make unsuccessful clones. And the new genre is that people fall into traps, I don't remember a single thriller where there was such a thing.

Saw is a film for a narrow audience. The director tries to make people think about philosophical questions: 'What is death?', 'What is life?', 'What is the meaning of life?' etc. Not everyone can understand the saw!

Why exactly these people?

If in 'Cuba' all people were kidnapped at random and for nothing, then in 'Pyla' people who fell into traps did something bad in life (they killed, took drugs, tried to commit suicide, etc.). That is why the designer decided to give them a second chance, to teach them to value their life and the lives of other people. After all, no one has the right to decide: who lives and who does not. But here is a small flaw: who gave the designer the right to decide who should live and who should not?

How to get out of the traps?

Each victim has its own trap, its own time and its own rules. And how to get out of it, only the designer knows, because he made them. He tells the rules to the victims and this is where it all begins.

The traps are very original, and I want to praise the creators for their genius. What a fantasy it must be to come up with so many traps, well done!

Plot.

The plot is very simple, but thanks to the riddle, the film looks very intense from start to finish. You will not be able to tear yourself away from the screen. Well, the end of 'Saw' will surprise you very pleasantly (to put it mildly), in the future the ending will become the hallmark of the continuation of 'Saw'.

Actors.

Since almost all the time of the film is devoted to the two main characters, it is unlikely that anyone else will be remembered besides them. Only if the actor known to us on 'Lethal Weapon' and 'Predator 2' is Danny Glover.

In Saw 1, the director wanted to convey to the viewer how a person would act even in a hopeless situation, how to apply logic and, most importantly, not to despair.

Conclusion: Who would have thought that the film would bring such success to the creators. I think I will not be original if I say that this is a real cult film that has found its audience. This is confirmed by the huge fees and approval from critics and spectators. If you love films such as Cube, Seven, Silence of the Lambs, Leaving No Trace, then this is your movie, and Saw will definitely delight you. Undoubtedly, the film deserves the highest score.
