Blood for Dracula 4K 1974 Ultra HD 2160p
Count Dracula languishes in a Romanian castle: there are no virgins left in his homeland, whose blood is necessary to maintain his existence. Together with a servant, he goes to Italy, where he hopes to find many virgins. The count stays in the house of a bankrupt family of aristocrats Del Fiore, who hopes to marry him one of their many daughters in order to improve their financial situation. But the sisters for marriage have long been "spoiled" by the worker of Mario. And their blood causes only excruciating vomiting in Dracula ...

Review 4K Movie

Count Dracula leaves his native Romania for Italy to search for the blood of virgins that is so necessary for him. He and his servant stay at the castle of the aristocrat Del Fiore, whose daughters, at first glance, are pure and innocent. The Count urgently needs their blood.

The 1974 film Blood for Dracula, directed by Paul Morrissey and produced by pop art founder Andy Warhol, is a highly atypical vampire horror that has little to do with the original stories of the bloodthirsty Earl. 'Blood for Dracula' should be perceived in the context of psychosexual and social pictures, because the film powerfully shows the inferiority and degeneration of the aristocratic estates at the beginning of the 20th century (their representatives are the Count, his servant and the Del Fiore family) and the preservation of innocence and integrity, after all, in fact, the main tempting serpent in the picture becomes Mario, an employee of the Del Fiore family with frankly socialist views.

The cast is the undisputed artistic success of the film. Udo Kir perfectly coped with the role of the Count, creating an unusual and not fitting into the canons image of a vampire, weak and stunted. Joe Dalessandro is also magnificent in the role of brutally sexy Mario and very convincing Vittorio De Sica in the role of an aristocrat.

The cinematography of Luigi Kuweiler is visually perfect as a whole, but the abundance of rather beautiful erotic, but sometimes inappropriate scenes make the film not very scary.

The melodic soundtrack written by the composer Claudio Gizzy became a real decoration of the picture.

'Blood for Dracula' is a non-standard and not very scary vampire horror with a strong connotation and an excellent cast, so I recommend this film for viewing solely out of curiosity to all fans of European and, especially, Italian horror.
