Story Movie

A squad of American special forces secretly lands in the Philippines to carry out a secret mission to rescue an important hostage. From the base air support is provided by the drone operator Reaper and his partner. Soon the situation takes an unexpected turn, and the soldiers are forced to engage in combat with superior enemy forces, after which only Sgt. Kinney - a young marine, responsible for communication with Reaper and coordination of his actions - survives. This is only the second combat mission for Kinney, and now he has to make his way alone through the enemy territory to the evacuation point, and Reaper becomes his only hope for salvation.

Review 4K Movie

To be honest, the first 30 minutes were quite boring to watch. And it was not even the lack of shootings and explosions, but the fact that everything developed too measured and predictable. A detachment of soldiers goes on a mission, and in the meantime there is an initially incoherent storyline with a gunner played by Russell Crowe. And the second line especially in the beginning seemed quite mundane. In general, yes, these half an hour will have to be naturally endured.

However, further the movie, nevertheless, speeds up and from a measured movie turns into a natural survival thriller, where there is a place for good suspense and tense scenes with naturalistic violence. Even the storyline with the cameraman finally finds a connection with the overall narrative, and between him and the fighter Kinney (call sign - Playboy) there is some chemistry in the manner of McClane and Powell from Die Hard.

The movie is also starting to touch on year-old themes. Say, the plot involving Kinney (played by Thor's little brother Liam Hemsworth) shows a young fighter who has to realize how brutal war can be. The idea is far from new, from Oliver Stone's Platoon to David Ayer's Fury, but it's executed well. The hero will have to hide from the cruel soldiers, to see the lawlessness of terrorists, and at the end of the movie to go through all the circles of hell. In the final scenes you believe that he has turned into a soldier, narrated all sorts of things.

The line with cameraman Ripper delivers another important message. That on the other side of combat, in their comfort zone, soldiers are slowly drowning in negligence. They're more interested in watching a basketball game than doing their duty of service. Again, this is an interesting concept with a worthy realization. Maybe the feeling is spoiled a little bit by too correct Russell Crowe, who at the end directly spoke this moral to the viewer, giving everything in the forehead, but it's already cool that such a theme in the movie is basically touched upon.

The only moment in this part of the movie, which seemed slightly unsatisfactory, is the ending of the tape. If the beginning of the picture is too long, then in the end everything was somehow crumpled. There were some plot elements with Ripper, which in the end led nowhere, and the ending of Playboy came out as if cut off. There was one scene missing for a coherent ending. The ending doesn't really spoil the experience, but still drowns it out.

In the end, I don't want to praise or criticize Territory of Evil. It's not the level of Scott's Black Hawk, but something close to a good Triple Frontier. In other words, a solid genre movie for once. Perhaps it sounds not quite as a compliment, but believe me a number of pictures in such genre and one time to watch hard (Liam's brother Chris starred in such a movie called Cavalry). Even dragging in the beginning is not much shortened by the end of viewing. So it's more than good for one time.
