Review 4K Movie

A new unimpressive Captain America, the most banal plot, a god from the machine and a lot of microdetails - that's the formula of the new movie 'Captain America: Brave New World'.

On the one hand, the creators of the movie finally gave themselves the report that the audience is tired of being aware of all the movie and series projects of Marvel Studios and with a bit of grief made a more or less self-sufficient movie, which itself reveals all the necessary details for understanding. On the other hand, the movie was frankly average and uninteresting.

The basic plot of the movie is read out rather quickly. It is such a quasi-political thriller about a strange and insane president of the USA, whom someone tries to kill and frame from the very first days of power. There's the typical international friction typical of such movies, the intelligence agencies with the military, and mysterious silhouettes in the shadows (and sometimes the hood). But already in the first half an hour the main plot twists will not be solved only by a schoolboy. The movie is mottled with various unconvincing details and references, but they are more of a backdrop for the main story.

The movie manages to keep only two characters in focus - the new Captain America Sam Wilson and U.S. President Thadeus Ross. In many ways, it is their moral and ethical confrontation, and then quite a direct confrontation that keeps them in the foreground. The main villain is given a total of five scenes, in which he does not reveal himself and rather stupidly merges before the final act.

The logicality of the movie deserves a special mention. It is quite interesting to watch how the characters literally teleport around the world of the picture, have unlimited freedom of action, humorous inserts are maximally foreign, and the president of such a powerful country as the USA suddenly turns out to control nothing around him, especially the media. There is a place for some political statements about the role of the USA in the world politics, about the opacity of their politics and electoral system, but in fact the movie itself does not evaluate it in any way.

In general, the movie would look good among a bunch of average political and spy thrillers of the noughties or as a TV series. What's going on here is more interesting than the plot of the series 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'. But from the product of a major movie studio on such a large franchise expect something completely different than a not very expressive ommage to political and spy thrillers. It's obvious enough that the whole movie was shot for the sake of two or three scenes, and the rest of the movie was made to justify going to the movies.

As far as Sam Wilson comes off as an unimpressive Falcon Captain America (he would have been better off as Falcon), the whole movie is so unimpressive. Someone on social media jokingly said that he didn't understand how five writers could write such a movie. Well, I would like to support this thesis. Especially when the whole 20-minute introduction characters very inappropriately say the things necessary for understanding the movie, and all the results are summarized in the form of newscasts.

And the action is there, if anything. The final fight is even tense, and the aerial scene in the middle of the movie is entertaining. But that's about it.
