Truck Turner, a former professional soccer player who becomes a bounty hunter (along with his partner Jerry), tracks down a bail-dodging pimp in Los Angeles, California. After a shootout where Truck must use deadly force to kill the pimp, Turner becomes a marked man and a target for assassins.

We have before us another blaxploitation. It is built on the usual for the subgenre narrative.... However, all these platitudes are of no use here. The most important thing in this movie is connected with the performer of the main role in it, a man named Isaac Hayes. That's what we need to talk about.

Picture this. A young textured man of thirty-two. Well-known and recognized in show business. And an Oscar winner, by the way. It's not a well-known fact, but Hayes was the composer and performer of the music for the movie 'Shaft' (for which he was recognized by the American Film Academy). Accordingly, the producers' expectations were obvious. They emphasized the powerful energy of the actor and gave him the opportunity to prove himself. Of course, he composed a good and predictable musical accompaniment. And in general, Hayes did not even need to try much. Colorful and bright, expressive, he already by his very presence let the viewer know that there will be a lot of drive and action.

And meanwhile, the events in the movie are slowly changing. Someone is killed, someone is hiding, somewhere a brothel. Unpretentious moves are needed only for one thing - to expose the nerves and deploy all the forces before the last fight of a private detective - a loner and an influential mafia boss. The apotheosis here will be a shootout in the hospital, where even the wounded character will be ready to find a gun and show the 'wild gang'.

Summarizing, I note that the film is boring and seems to be dragged out. Jaffet Cotto is habitually brutal and accurate. Isaac Hayes doesn't take his cinematic capabilities too seriously (and this guy had real potential to become a big star). In fact, he had everything to succeed - confidence, texture, power. All that was missing was a few hours of acting lessons and serious work with the director. But, at the same time, all the genre 'chips' of the movie are kept in a very decent way. A glimmer of 'Shaft', nothing more.
