Schmidt and Genko hated each other fiercely at school. However, life decreed that they became friends at the police academy. They trade pistols and IDs for knapsacks and use their youthful looks as cover. The trouble is, today's teenagers are very different from what Schmidt and Jenko remember them. Friends understand that all their knowledge about sex, drugs and rock and roll is fundamentally wrong. In addition, the guys understand that, despite the past years, they have not been able to completely eradicate children's complexes. Both have to face their own fears again and literally return to the skins of teenagers.

This is how one of the funniest Hollywood comedies about high school students that came out over the years begins.

The film is based on the popular 1980s American TV series 21 Jump Street, which follows a team of four young police officers working undercover to solve crimes among young people. The series is also known for starring Johnny Depp. Since the series is practically unknown in our country, our distributors had a difficult task to lure the viewer to this film. We decided to lure with the name "Macho and nerd". We will find out later how successful this solution will be in commercial terms.

As in the series, the main characters of the feature film work as police officers. Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Junko (Channing Tatum) did not get along well as schoolchildren, to put it mildly, but after school, both went to the police academy, where they became best friends. But as it turned out, the police life is not like in the movies: it is rather boring. But after their first arrest (though not very successful), they are sent to the secret service department on Jump Street under the leadership of the evil black captain Dixon (Ice Cube). Their first assignment: infiltrating a school disguised as high school students, where the drug trade is flourishing. But it turned out to be not so easy to join the school: after all, since their graduation, a lot has changed in the school environment ...

Naturally, the main thing for which we watch comedies is humor. And here he is great. Of course, there are enough vulgar jokes, but this is a comedy about high school students, and even so they are funny after all. Those who will watch the film in the original will more than once hear "f * ck", known to every schoolboy, it is not for nothing that the film has an R.I. rating. , then, I'm sure the film would not have come out so funny. There is a lot to dislike about Americans, but we must give them credit: they know how to laugh at themselves. In this film, they will make fun of their ubiquitous political correctness more than once. Channing Tatum, who is known to most Russian viewers as "the same handsome from Step Forward", will be joked about his pretty face more than once. And, for sure, there are many references to the series in the film, but since I did not see it, they probably passed me by. The script is really interesting and funny. By the way, Jonah Hill took part in the work on it, and it was he who wrote a cameo for one star from the series.

More recently, another comedy thriller "This Means War" was on the screens. "Jump Street 21" and "So War" are really very similar: not only are they the same genre, but the main characters in both films hide who they really are. And if I choose which movie is better, then I choose Jump Street. And I liked the Hill-Tatum tandem more than Hardy Pine. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum look really cool together: it's a great, explosive cop couple. And I'm sure we'll see them together again.

Like the last Mission: Impossible, Jump Street was filmed by former cartoonists. Both Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy, Chance of Meatballs) turned out to be a good, energetic and, above all, funny comedy.
