Review 4K Movie
Ola, after 25 years, they returned. The first film was released back in 1995, and the second in 2002, when there was a big boom in home video, I then rented it.
Bad Boys is a standard nineties baddy movie.
So, the focus of the plot is still the restless duet of officers of the anti-drug department. Mike Lowry performed by Will Smith is still the same self-confident daredevil, and Marcus Burnett, played by Martin Lawrence, is still the same grouchy family man. However, the years still take their toll. These are no longer bad guys, but rather bad grandfathers, and literally - Marcus just had a grandson. Because of this, he decides to leave the dangerous job, which infuriates Lowry. But the partners will have to postpone the quarrels, because the widow of the drug lord escaped from prison, who wants to take revenge on the police.
The Bad Boys never relied on a script. He, of course, was there, but was rather used for a bunch of comedy episodes and action scenes, especially in the second part. The characters themselves Smith and Lawrence fell in love with the audience thanks to the charisma of the actors, and not the quality of the written dialogue. On the set of the first film, Bay often allowed the stars to improvise, and what they invented on the go turned out to be better than what the scriptwriters wrote. But, apparently, the creators of "Bad Guys Forever" decided to change the current situation. There is a feeling that at two o’clock they tried to shove more of the plot than in the previous films combined. From this, the third part is felt as a whole saga, saturated or even oversaturated with events, almost like the last "Star Wars". Closer to the middle, the picture may even tire, but the aftertaste leaves a pleasant one.
For once, in “Bad Guys” a story appeared instead of a chain of incidents. Yes, quite simple and predictable, but at the same time integral and surprisingly sincere. The main characters fight not only with bandits of all stripes, but also with age, the consequences of past mistakes and their own shortcomings. Burnett and Lowry really behave like old friends who together went through a lot and became familiar not only to each other, but also to the viewer. The film can surprisingly ease even those who haven’t seen the first two parts into their eyes, or who have seen it, but remain indifferent to them. And all because human relations are paid no less attention than half-naked girls and cars flying to smithereens.
The nervous boss is still played by Joe Pantagliano, who is extremely underrated in Hollywood.
To thank for this is the team of scriptwriters, as well as Adil and Bilal - the Belgian director’s duet, which was noted by the crime series “Snowfall”. It was this couple who had the obligation to continue what Michael Bay began. And with confidence we can say that the directors coped with the task. Yes, the film has lost its overwhelming absurdity, and you can no longer admire how a bullet in slow motion flashes Martin Lawrence's buttock. But the chases and shootings remained all the same inventive and spectacular. With the exception of perhaps a couple of technical flaws - in some places a chroma key and digital doubles of actors hurt the eye. But claims are forgotten as soon as the shooting begins. To the delight of fans of old-school action movies, the creators did not try to push the franchise into the teenage rating and made the action almost more bloody than in the second part. In places, he is still absurdly bloody, which once again emphasizes the general frivolity of what is happening. Indeed, despite some momentary impregnations of drama, we are faced with a purebred comedy buddy movie in the best traditions of “Deadly Weapons” and “Rush Hour”. The joke in the picture is almost abundant and, fortunately, unlike the first two parts, not all of them are built around an erection and gases. Some smile, others even make you laugh out loud. Partly thanks to the really chic wagering of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. Where, where, and in this genre both look as organically as possible.
Bottom line: a completely optional, but unexpectedly powerful sequel to an almost forgotten franchise. This is a dynamic, emotional and funny action movie that easily plugs the previous parts into the belt. After this, it even makes sense to wait for the fourth picture.
P.S, and with the cool soundtrack of the film and the music of The Black Eyed Peas, J Balvin
