Chappy is a prodigy. Like any other child, he falls under the influence of his environment, and only his heart and soul will help him find his way. But there is one thing that makes Chappie different from everyone else: he is the first robot capable of feeling and thinking.

Review 4K Movie

The creator of robot police or scouts, Dionne Wilson, is developing a new program. Thanks to her, his inventions will be able not only to help people even more, but also to develop independently. Not having received approval from his leadership, the scientist has to resort to theft. He picks up a droid from the warehouse, but on the way home, Dion is attacked by local gangsters. Wilson tells them about his idea, and they allow him to connect the program in exchange for the robot to help them.

The creator of District 9 and Elysium decided to risk it again and instead of filming, like everyone else, another blockbuster for hundreds of millions of dollars, he returned to his homeland and put on a picture that will undoubtedly return the viewers' faith in his projects. Blomkamp is one of the few directors who succeeds in presenting long-worn ideas and thoughts. Despite the fact that he does not hide the fact that they are not him and does not try to deceive the public, saying that they have never seen such a thing. On the contrary, he only plays into the hands of the fact that the audience has long been aware of, they do not need hour-long lectures on introducing into the world, the problems and characters of the characters.

The script, written by the director and his wife, Terry Tatchell, who also helped him with District 9, is deep, clever, and time consuming. The characters, as in his other paintings, are not as unambiguous as they try to appear when they first appear. There are no blacks or whites here, everything is gray. The plot, in contrast to Elysium, for which Blomkamp has already apologized, here dominates everything - music, game and special effects. The scriptwriters have not forgotten about religion, which lives parallel to science, everyone can relate to this in their own way, but the director clearly states his opinion on this issue.

Blomkamp, so wanted to apologize to the public, which trusts him, that he filled his picture with everything he could. There are plenty of references here, both to the analogies that come even before watching: "Robocop", "Blade Runner" and "District No. 9", and appearing when watching: "City of Heroes", "Interstellar", etc. And Chappie even manages watch the cartoon "He-Man" in the lair of Ninji and Yolandi.

The actors spoke so wonderful about their work at a press conference in Moscow, on the occasion of the premiere of the film, that they simply cannot turn their tongues at someone.

Charlo Copley, the actor we will never see on screen. But the level of his professionalism simply cannot be ignored. He created the Chappy robot with such love that the audience falls in love with him, even seeing it on posters and in commercials. And when it comes to cinema, they begin to treat it as an absolutely living being. When creating the film, the filmmakers could only dream of this.

The musicians from the duet "Die Antwoord" received an invitation from the director due to their uniqueness. They did not have to reincarnate in anyone, Ninzdya and Yolandi played themselves. At the same time, Ninzdya dragged his car to the set and persuaded the technicians to make it the vehicle of the future, which he drove in the film. They also redeveloped and redesigned their home in the painting, something the invited artists could hardly create.

Dev Patel has finally found a project that can outshine Slumdog Millionaire and will allow the young actor to continue his search for interesting, non-standard projects.

Hugh Jackman played a very controversial character, his hero can hardly be called a villain. Rather, it is a person who defends his interests. Blomkamp simply did not need villains to appear in his film, because then his project would become a standard product attracted to the genre.

Sigourney Weaver makes very few screen appearances. But he manages to create a usual, but at the same time important for the plot image.

Weta Workshop and Image Engine continue to work with Blomkamp, and each new work brings them closer to perfection.

Trent Opalok shot a truly powerful, vibrant and realistic picture.

Hans Zimmer found a way to surprise the audience once again. First, his music is the main engine of the project. Secondly, the composer was inspired by pictures taken during the days of video distribution, and this nostalgia makes viewing even more attractive. And thirdly, the author of the music for "The Beginning", "Gladiator" and other films simply does not know how to create soundtracks that are not remembered.

Chappy the Robot is one of the projects that gradually began to appear on the big screens around the world. These films are hidden behind the screen of a blockbuster, while delighting the audience not only with the scale and special effects, but also with a coherent, dynamic and clever story. Such films are a step forward, which was necessary for filmmakers to attract those who had not been there for a long time to cinemas. And those who do visit them got the opportunity to see stories that very rarely make it to theatrical release. As for the rating (+16) - realism, cruelty and blood are present in the picture in abundance, so it is better not to take children with you to the movies.
