The theme of global disasters has always been loved by both filmmakers and viewers, and I am no exception. I love disaster movies. Each of them shows his own view of the problem of interaction between nature and man. Last year I saw an excellent film from this series - 'Towards the Storm', and this year I was pleased with 'The San Andreas Rift'. For various reasons, I did not get to the cinema, I waited until the tape appeared in good quality and watched it with pleasure.

I will say right away that this film cannot be called a serious film drama. It's not science fiction either. This is not a warning film, you do not need to look for allegories and metaphors here. The filmmakers simply imagined what would happen if suddenly the strongest tornado hit California - an earthquake of more than 9.5 points, coupled with a tsunami that could wipe out San Francisco and Los Angeles.

It turned out epic, large-scale and global. The spectacle is really impressive and can make you appreciate the world around you differently.

I sat, dizzy with fear, and sometimes almost crying, watching how buildings, bridges and structures are distorted and collapsing, people are dying, like the elements are in full swing, erasing all life from the face of the earth.

The catastrophe is shown very realistically, vividly, without any abstractions. And against the backdrop of all this disaster, simple human relations are especially touching on the soul, when you understand how dear your family and your loved ones are to you and that this is the most important thing in life. It is no coincidence that in the finale of the picture the question sounds: 'And now what?', And the main character responds to it life-affirmingly: 'Nothing, let's rebuild it!' Yes, let everything collapse, let everything be washed away by the tsunami wave, the family remains, which means that everything will be fine.

From this point of view, it is also noteworthy that the main character Ray, played by Dwayne Johnson, does not rush to save America and the whole world from disaster. First of all, he saves his family - the most valuable thing he has.

The movie 'San Andreas Rift' I really liked. Yes, it is predictable, like all disaster films, but personally I saw everything that I expected to see in it. I recommend.
