enet is a new film by Christopher Nolan, designed to revive the global film industry and bring viewers back to theaters during the ongoing pandemic. And also this word is a palindrome, which is read equally in both directions and is translated from English as “principle”.

Nolan, of course, is still a poser and once again does not betray his main creative principle - playing with time and space. He shot an expensive spy blockbuster with the most primitive plot - two special agents save the world from the Russian oligarch and the end of the world (or rather time). At the same time, with a non-linear plot, incredibly difficult for normal human logic. So non-linear that it looks like a snake in a maze that eats its own tail, next to another maze, in which everything is the same just the opposite. How do you like it? At the very beginning of the film, the director, through the lips of a young scientist, tells us with a mockery: “Don't try to understand - feel”.

And what else remains when the brain just started looking for an explanation of the time inversion and the simultaneous movement both forward and backward within this inversion, and in the next ten minutes you were piled on with a bunch of small clues, strange artifacts and endless cycles of what is happening?

All that remains is to enjoy the accelerating dynamics of events, the beauty of the frame and the powerful soundtrack.

There is no need to empathize with the main characters, they are spelled out in broad strokes, caricature, as well as the violence in the frame. All this does not seem to matter to Nolan, he cut off all unnecessary things that can interfere with concentration on the basic principle - nothing ever begins and nothing ever ends.

After watching, there is a feeling of confusion and a desire to return to the past in order to understand everything (or almost everything) this time.
