Frank Horrigan is an agent of the US Secret Service. On November 22, 1963, Frank was in the guard of President John F. Kennedy, he could not protect him, did not have time to work quickly. And now, for 30 years, it haunts him.

But one call changes his life - it was a criminal who announced his intentions to kill the president. The game featuring Frank and Mitch Leary has begun.

In the Line of Fire is a very interesting psychological thriller. The script is well thought out, the actions of a psychopath sometimes cause hostility, but along the way you begin to understand that he is not that kind and a psychopath. There are many memorable moments in the film, take, for example, the scene when Frank is faced with a choice, to kill Leary and die himself, or to grab his hand and be saved.

Wolfgang Petersen has some good films to his credit, but In the Line of Fire was his first notable film. He managed to shoot a rather tense political thriller, which after a long time still looks just as fresh.

As the hero Leary, who planned to kill the president, said - “Without me you would be just a drunken pianist.” This confrontation between the two heroes is very interesting to watch. You understand that Leary gave Frank a second chance when he invited him to join the game.

John Malkovich - no wonder he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. It can be seen that he approached the filming very responsibly, his hero is very good at reincarnating. Malkovich turns around with him, now he is a respectable businessman, now a silly passer-by, all this is worthy of separate praise.
