Review 4K Movie

I've always been fascinated by the opposition in various films. When two people on opposite sides confront each other. Moreover, they are real professionals, they know and can do a hundred times more than mere mortals. And the professionalism of one person as opposed to the professionalism of the other falls on the scales, and the finale shows who nevertheless turned out to be the best in their field. Well, the truth is, as a rule, the positive character turns out to be the best. That's why I love this movie so much. However, one will not be full of the idea of confrontation. The plot is important, the acting is important, some little things and details that are scattered throughout the film are important. And in this film, almost all indicators are at their best.

I was not the only one who admired John Malkovich's performance. If you believe the category 'awards', then in 1994 he was nominated 4 times in various film awards in the category 'Best Villain' or 'Best Supporting Actor' and, alas, never received an Oscar, or at least an unnecessary MTV award ... It's a little offensive for the actor. He merged with this role of Mitch Leary. I would not be surprised if I find out that he was preparing for the role according to the Stanislavsky system, and it is no secret that many Hollywood actors prefer this system and work exclusively according to it. John reincarnated as his hero, a completely thought-out character appeared before us, who has his own life, his past, his own destiny, and John Malkovich played an essentially fictional person in such a way that it felt as if Mitch Leary was really playing Mitch Leary himself.

As for Agent Harrigan, the idea of not a superman, but a professional, but still middle-aged agent, again arouses some sympathy. We are generously shown the weaknesses of the hero of Clint Eastwood. He is no longer in that shape to run fast and catch up, his strength leaves him at the moment when they are needed, colds and malaise knock him out of the rut, dizziness interferes with concentration. We are shown a man who is not what he was, but nevertheless does not lose his grip and accepts the killer's challenge. And when he has a temperature, he cannot fully carry out his professional actions, that is, we are shown that he is the same person as ordinary people, only in more interesting and dangerous work. Unlike various superheroes who are wounded in the arms and legs, but they still forget about the injuries for the rest of the film and run, jump, shoot, and at the end they fight with the main villain.

The only thing I didn't like about the film was the elevator scene, namely a piece of massacre. Very unnatural. In addition, doubts arose that a cold agent with a temperature would be allowed to guard the president. Or was Harrigan hiding that he was sick? But shouldn't agents undergo some more or less medical examination before intercession? I don’t know how things are with them there, but such questions arose. But these are all little things. The acting is brilliant, the plot is exciting, and it is a pleasure to watch.
