All the rules will be broken this summer. A group of marauders decides that the annual Doomsday Night should not end with the onset of morning, but can continue indefinitely. No one else will be safe.
Review 4K Movie
The next part of the franchise, which tells about the night of violence and cruelty in the United States, turned out to be much more original than the last two parts. If in the first the events developed around one family, in the second the viewer burst out into the streets along with chaos, then the third and fourth parts (even though in “Judgment Night. Beginning” it was told about how the “Purge” appeared) mostly copies of the first paintings.
“Judgment Night Forever” is, to a certain extent, a reboot of the franchise, because for the first time in five films, the filmmakers posed the question point-blank: what if people don't stop killing in the 12 hours allotted for them and will continue to do so? Will the government be able to stop the wave of murder and violence or the States will drown in their own blood?
This time, events are taking place not in a giant metropolis, but in the small town of Austin in Texas, where most of the houses of local residents are not particularly strong buildings in terms of defenses. Mexican migrants come here, which is why especially radical guys have the idea to cleanse their country of those who are not purebred Americans. Actually, this is where the idea of "Doomsday forever" is born - those who started killing no longer want to stop until they have cleaned their nation white.
It is not difficult to guess that this idea seriously resembles the ideas of Nazi Germany, which at one time also organized a purge among the population. In The Forever Purge, this theme is actively played up with an amendment to the fact that the poorer segments of the population are defenseless in comparison with those whose wallets are full of bucks.
Considering that during the reign of Donald Trump, the issue of limiting the United States from a massive influx of Mexican migrants was widely discussed, and he himself openly stated that he did not want to receive such a number of Latinos in the backyard of the White House, it can be assumed that the creators "Doomsday Forever" disguised in the premise of the film the comparison between Trump and Hitler, who also advocated the creation of a pure race. But this is just my guess, which is based on the available facts. Basically, "Doomsday forever" is akin to other filmed dystopias, continues to emphasize class stratification in a society where the poor will always be defenseless, and the rich - those who decide the fate.
While watching, you repeatedly catch yourself thinking about how this film, in principle, reached the screen and became possible. After all, he is openly racist, talking about how some people treat people with a different skin color. Here, the Mexicans are represented as such, and in this regard, the manifestation of racism in "Doomsday" for some reason does not raise any questions or demarches from anyone (maybe the concepts of manifestation of racism in the United States apply only to blacks?). The film does not condone excessive violence, but it demonstrates it openly, essentially reflecting what sometimes happens in the States when people on the street decide to establish their own laws.
In general, the fifth part of the franchise turned out to be quite good. At least it looks fresh - here the action has been moved from the streets of the metropolis to more provincial areas, and the "Judgment Night" itself has ceased to be at night. It can be seen that the creators decided to add an element of freshness to their project. However, there are also moments that raise questions6 why no one is shooting at the wheels of a truck, how the military does not see a group of armed people crossing the road, where are the drug cartels that are stated in the description and from which, judging by the synopsis, refugees are fleeing from Mexico ... Finally, I don’t there was enough conflict in the film, in which people would collide with each other and do not understand whether it is possible to trust each other or whether they are faced with their enemy. In other words: how do I know that it is not the enemy in front of me, if he is holding a weapon in his hands? What if he just shot someone and now I'm his next victim? Something like this.
