Based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, this gripping and entertaining action-packed action adventure has become a cult classic since its release in 1987, as it is not only one of the most colorful action films featuring the magnificent Arnold Schwarzenegger, but also a wonderful satirical film about public opinion management through television.

The Running Man creates the magnificent atmosphere of the arena of the Colosseum, where in ancient times theatrical executions and gladiator fights were arranged for the crowd that demanded bread and circuses. The only difference is that the ancient Romans did not think about how to specifically drive consumers into any format, plan them, which is an integral characteristic of the post-industrial time in which we live and in which the action of the film develops. It does not promote violence as the only method of solving all problems, but makes it clear that if the media close schools (apparently under the auspices of a peculiar understanding of children's rights and freedoms), prohibit high art to simplify controlled individuals, then violence will be the only argument coming from run wild in the struggle for their rights.

In fact, what is happening on the screen is a major prototype of The Hunger Games, which fully reflects modern culture for the masses, which practically bows down to bloody violence as the best entertainment. Choosing Richard Dawson to host the game show was a brilliant move. His performance as a presenter looks amazing. Schwartz diligently plays the role of a former police officer accused of a crime he did not commit. His hero Ben Richards is still at large, so he can prove that he was set up, but now he is a participant in a brutal game show, and in order to achieve his goal, he must fight powerful opponents and expose the truth about the show and how television controls everyone.
