From childhood, Evan suffers from strange visions and realistic dreams, knows things that he never remembered, and has skills that come from nowhere. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, he ekes out a miserable existence and is dependent on pills. Trying to get another batch, Evan quarrels with the dealer, arranges a mess and ends up with the police. Antoine Fuqua's new film 'Infinity' is a fairly average fantasy about the reincarnation of souls. There is nothing here that we have not seen in other films. Even the theme itself was already played up in last year's 'Immortal Guard' from Netflix (also, by the way, a very average film). In the same film, there is also nothing remarkable, except, perhaps, the very idea of ​​the transmigration of souls, and even then the past lives of the protagonist are shown blurry and in a couple of seconds. But what potential was there, how could one turn around with it! As a result, we got a standard action movie about saving the world from another villain who has gone, who, with the help of another mysterious MacGuffin (here, this role is played by some kind of egg, about which nothing was explained to us, except that it can kill all of humanity) wants to arrange end of the world.

Mark Wahlberg underplays, Chiwetel Ejiofor (the main villain, by the way, a funny fact - he was also one in the Immortal Guard), on the contrary, overplays, Sophie Cookson (the girl from Kingsman) is just nice to look at, and the rest of the characters are not remembered at all, even Dylan O'Brien, who ran into flashbacks for a few minutes.

The action is average - all these car chases, shootouts, fights have already been in hundreds of other action films and are much more diverse (take at least the same 'Fast and the Furious', which, perhaps, by chance, this tape is equal to). The soundtrack is also standard for such projects, although the composer is not bad. Some of the scenes are strangely staged. CGI is very conspicuous from time to time, so I can’t put the picture in the pluses either. At the same time, the final fight on the plane is generally normal, but after what Tom Cruise did in similar scenes in 'Mission: Impossible' and 'The Mummy' (most importantly, realistically, and not with the help of graphics), it also looks secondary.

In general, in all respects, an average film is one of those where a great idea, but poor execution. Even the average 'Immortal Guard', despite all its significant shortcomings, looks more advantageous against the background of 'Infinity', at least in terms of showing the past lives of the main character (I still visually more or less completely remember them, unlike the past hero Mark Wahlberg). Nevertheless, 1:45 flew by quickly, I didn’t get bored anywhere, so if you want to kill the evening, you can watch it, but if you miss it, you won’t lose anything. It is not surprising that this film, after the transfers, was sent immediately to streaming - this is where it belongs.
