Story Movie

September 30, 1998. Claire Redfield returns to her native Raccoon City, where she ran away a few years ago as a child. Then, after the loss of her parents, she and her brother lived in a local orphanage sponsored by the city-forming corporation Umbrella, but now the company has moved, and the town is in decline. Claire notices that the locals seem to be infected, but her cop brother looks healthy. Suddenly, a siren is turned on in the city, and residents are advised not to leave their homes. This night will not be easy for everyone, and especially for Claire herself and a small police squad, including rookie cop Leon Kennedy.

I have not played this series of games. I only know that her lore is quite extensive, and Poul Anderson's attempt to film this game in 2002 caused a wave of negativity from fans. In turn, uninitiated ordinary viewers liked the film, as, indeed, I did.

Honestly, I was expecting disgusting bullshit. I got bullshit, but I can't call it disgusting. The film does a good job of keeping the suspense and keeps the intrigue to the end. In the end, however, I did not receive satisfaction, since the ending turned out to be indistinct.

The big minus of the picture is its schizophrenia, which affects almost all modern crafts. I refuse to understand when a picture is given an adult rating, but the characters in it act like teenagers. I understand that games are played mainly by children and the characters should correspond to them, but why can't you take the game as a basis and make it as mundane as possible? The fact is that the Walking Dead series breaks its own bottom with each new season, therefore, a full meter of a serious story about zombies is sorely lacking. I want to sympathize with the characters. Try to understand what it's like for them. And these children with guns and in adult bodies do not insert. It is clear that the very concept of zombies is completely absurd, but if it is popular now, then why not do it qualitatively? Set a goal for yourself to compete for some high reward. The Joker did it!

As for the plot, its general concept looks good. A lot can be shown in a short time frame. Another issue is that it wasn't possible to reveal anything normally, but this is because of the fan service for which the film was made. Judging by the scores, the fans failed again. I think the reason lies in the dullness of the work. He is sorely lacking more movement and peppy musical accompaniment. Throughout the film, there was not a vivid scene that would pull the whole blanket over itself and be deposited in memory.

You can only praise for trying to combine horror and action. It didn’t work out so well, but it was clear that they tried. I liked the makeup. As I said, there is no bright scene, but there is a bright zombie that appears first in the mansion. Beautiful and creepy at the same time.

Otherwise, this is another passing craft, about which loud praises were sung, but it turned out, as always, the opposite.
