Story Movie

A mercenary codenamed God Cow goes on a new mission: instead of a sick colleague he has to get on the Tokyo-Kyoto high-speed train, steal a suitcase and get off at the intermediate station. But this simple task gets very complicated when he finds out that the train is crawling with all kinds of killers.

After what seemed like years of watching 'Faster Than a Bullet' trailers (wow, did it ever get played that often), I finally watched the movie! And honestly... I thought it was amazing! Like, let me be clear, there's nothing crazy about it, it's not 'Top Gun: Maverick' or 'All at Once', but it was a lot of fun! I just had such a good time watching it that I didn't even mind that it wasn't a very good technical film. Sure, it may not be the strongest story or the best characters, but damn if it's not interesting! I legitimately had a good time and thought it was a fun thrill ride to end the summer movie season!

This is by far David Litch's best movie since 'Deadpool 2', and maybe even his best! It's probably a lot better than 'Exploding Blonde' and 'Hobbes and Shaw', and looks almost like a Guy Ritchie movie (which works)! In my opinion, the movie can best be described as 'Kissing Skill' meets 'Kill Bill' and I loved the tone and the feeling that it fit! The action was killer, the humor was hilarious, everything just worked perfectly for me! Again, it's not cinematic perfection, but for a summer blockbuster it's a heck of a lot of fun. This movie is really a thrill ride! It has so many crazy twists and turns, and cleverly plays around with the idea of the Chekhov gun, merrily weaving all the satire together! The film has such witty dialogue and makes excellent use of non-linear narration and flashbacks. I really enjoyed the first hour and 30 minutes, but unfortunately the last act stopped the pace of the movie. Personally, I thought it might have ended without everything in the finale, but I still had a good time because of the awesome characters!

The characterization in this movie is really strong, all the characters are unique and memorable in their own way. I really enjoyed Ladybug and thought Brad Pitt did a great job with this performance! I love this cool action hero phase that Brad Pitt is in. The contradiction between his character's pacifist personality and his violent career was amusing and was played up in the story in a very funny way. It had some terrific action scenes and great comedic moments. I would love to see a sequel to this movie, similar to what happens in 'Get the Knives Out'; each time leading the main character to a new set of characters. I just loved Pitt and his character so much that I would love to watch more! And while Pitt is terrific, it was the twins, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry, that just stole the movie! They had some of the best scenes, some of the best jokes, and they had the greatest chemistry. I just loved them, especially the lingering Thomas the Tank Engine joke! All of the jokes in this movie were a hit, it's a great edgy comedy, and there are even some terrific unexpected cameos! The action is great; every scene is edited, shot and staged in a way that makes it seem interesting, stylish and so fresh. I loved how they used objects in the environment, and the lighting was great too! I can't say the same about the CGI, it was a disappointment, but to me that's a small thing.

This movie was so much fun, the perfect way to end the summer blockbuster season! I would highly recommend it and would love to see more from this universe. While by no means perfect, I had such a good time with it, laughed a lot, enjoyed the great action and enjoyed the epic soundtrack. So that's a big thumbs up from me for 'Faster Than a Bullet', a fast-paced thrill ride to the movies!
