The film has a certain atmosphere, a certain charm. But a lot of it just looks ridiculous. Some details are due to the low budget; other things are simply underdeveloped.

Undoubtedly, the film is brutal—in the first ten minutes, a scalp is taken, a girl is torn in half, her head is brought to a priestess who eats her brains—after all, the director is Lucio Fulci, and blood plays a major role in his films. Actually, so do naked female bodies.
The well-known laws of popularity: sex, death, fear…

Also: the dialogue is primitive, the music is crude—it doesn’t blend in so you don’t even notice it, but rather grates on the ears and, moreover, sometimes completely ruins the atmosphere. The constant fog and the sun beating down on the camera—at some point, it just starts to get annoying.

But in the end—a rather interesting, at times gripping film with its own flaws and merits.
I can’t help but mention the ending—it’s really good, certainly more so in terms of the script, but it looks—very good!
