One day Elvis Presley decided to retire and, having found a double, made a contract with him under which he could return at any time. But by a silly accident his copy of that contract burned down and he had no choice but to start living the life of his former imitator. In an accident he ended up in an asylum in Texas, where he was in a coma for 20 years.

Waking up already decrepit old man, he realizes that the years are irretrievably gone, decides to retire peacefully. But even here, he is only dreaming of peace! Acquaintance with the ostensibly still alive President John Kennedy, who everywhere he sees new plots to assassinate him again, a series of mysterious deaths that have broken the measured course of life in the orphanage "Deserved Rest" - all this revives the tired and forgotten Elvis Aaron Presley to life and struggle again!

Don Coscarelli, of 'Phantasm' fame, is known to audiences as a director who knows how to deliver something original. And this movie is no exception! The main character who fights the horrible monster (in this case the mummy) is the famous King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Prestley, played by the inimitable Bruce Campbell. It is worth noting that Bruce won the award for best actor thanks to this film.

But I will not deviate from the topic. As everyone already knows, in 'Bubba Ho-Tep' Elvis decided to quit music and gave all the glory and money to his copycat double, Sebastian Hough. But the 'New King' died unexpectedly, and Prestley, having lost a copy of the contract, only with the help of which he could prove his identity, decided to lead the life of his 'Understudy'. But there were also surprises! Elvis, as a result of an accident on stage, spends many years in a coma and wakes up already an old man. At the old people's home he meets a black guy who thinks he is President Kennedy, who tells him about a mummy wandering the halls at night. This is where the fun begins.

Of course, you can say that the plot is silly, but what else is needed for a comedy-horror? Especially the idea of the movie is original. Where else can you see the old Elvis clashing with a mummy? Personally, this is a novelty for me. As for the jokes, I will only say that the humor here is American, but nevertheless funny. In spite of all the puns, the traditions of horror movies are not bad here. The good musical accompaniment, which adds salt, will haunt the viewer the whole movie. In general, no one will get bored here.

Going back to the actors, Bruce Campbell showed us a great acting. Ossie Davis was also good as always. Even Reggie Banister who played the main part in 'Phantasm' was mentioned in the film, so the director has chosen an excellent cast which brightens up the picture.

The conclusion is that the movie will make everyone who dares to watch it smile. Personally, watching this film put me in a great mood.
