Story Movie

The action takes place in 1980. Vince Lombardi's school administration, namely the new principal Togar, is alarmed by the students' excessive love of rock 'n' roll and their indifference to their studies. Riff Randol is the most ardent fan of the Ramones' work at her school. She waits for three days outside the ticket booth to buy tickets for herself and her school friends to see her favorite band. Riff has a dream: to see the Ramones, specifically her idol Joey Ramone.....

I love Ramones, so I couldn't pass by this movie. To be honest, I expected something more grandiose (from a movie from the 70s), but in general I liked the movie. Unpretentious, lampooning in its own way and quite cute. It's far from a masterpiece of world art and it's definitely not a movie I would personally revisit, but this kind of movie has some charm of its own. Oh, and hey, it has Ramones songs playing as the soundtrack - isn't that cool?

Some moments in the movie are hyperbolized for more comedic effect, and the look of the principal involuntarily reminds you of 'Matilda' and it all looks silly and funny at the same time.

For one evening's viewing, it'll do. Especially if you arrange yourself a marathon of lampy and charming old pro- and teen movies. The plot is uncomplicated and banal, the main character is strange but charming. It's basically a movie about a crazy groupie and rebellious teenagers.

In general, nothing outstanding, but nothing particularly repulsive there either. For people who love the Ramones, it will be a special treat to watch them and listen to their songs once again!
