'Blazing Saddles' was one of the highest-grossing movies of the 70s, and I assure you - they earned every cent of their 120 million-dollar grosses honestly! Even now, more than 30 years after its creation, this movie remains one of the funniest comedies of the century, and as a parody of westerns, it leads the pack!

Mel Brooks was at his best again: the movie is completely in his style - gags, parodies, silly situations, references to other movies, crossing of eras and genres, music and dances - there is plenty of it in 'Saddles'. And then there's Brooks himself in several roles, his signature crew including Madeline Kann and Harvey Korman, and a very young, and not yet monstrously fat, Dom de Luis. ;)

Now the movie looks probably not like it used to - many years have passed, westerns are outdated, many movies are forgotten, parodies have lost their basis, but nevertheless many scenes from this movie want to rewatch again and again - they are just mind-bogglingly funny. In addition, it has a lot of finds that will be later used by many modern comedians and comedy writers.
