Twelve-year-old Benny Lenz lives alone with his father Robert, owner of a small zoo, after the death of his mother. The boy has no friends, but he enthusiastically collects all sorts of things for them. So when one day he finds an ancient staff with a large gemstone on the end, he also hopes that it might be a valuable object. He even contacts an art expert, Dr. Metzler, who has to assess for him the value of the found object. She also realizes at a glance how valuable the piece of wood is. Even as a fan of Otto Waalkes earlier works everything is as boring as youd expect and a. This is an prime example of how unfunny german comedies are.
