Review 4K Movie

It's a strange thing. I love classic comedians (the Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, Mr. Pitkin, Harold Lloyd, etc.). I'm not a big fan of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. To be honest, they're not my kind of comedians. The problem isn't the time period (the film was released in 1948).
It's specifically the humor. It's boring, guys. I don't even really understand the characters they're portraying here. Especially Abbott's character (Costello is okay, he's a cowardly fat guy). What kind of character is he? Just a regular guy, I guess. What's there to laugh about?
Of course, every duo needs a clown and someone who looks normal next to him. With Laurel and Hardy, Laurel was the clown. Or take the creative duo of Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon (by the way, I recommend their films together), where Lemmon looked like the big clown. But both Hardy and Matthau were funny. This is not the case with Abbott, a gray character (and Costello starts to get annoying towards the end).
“Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” is a completely toothless circus that (thoroughly) runs through the classic monsters of Universal Studios. In short, it's a parody. Not everyone got it, but many did. They mocked Dracula, they mocked the Wolf Man, they mocked (naturally) Frankenstein's monster.

This is not just a silly movie, it's a stupid one. Every plot line is baffling. A billion questions (yes, into the void). Why does Dracula recharge Frankenstein's monster with some kind of ring? Where did his assistants come from? Why don't Abbott and Costello spit on the monsters and go to their castle for some reason (they're just regular delivery guys, damn it)?
And what is this nonsense about Frankenstein's monster needing to have a stupid person's brain transplanted so that he can be controlled, ha ha ha. Send the screenwriters a Golden Raspberry Award. Rumor has it that many actors (including Abbott and Costello) were unhappy with the script (who would have doubted it?), but signed on anyway, deciding to make some money.

I really liked Lugosi's line, “We all need fresh blood and brains.” It has a double meaning, ha ha ha. Abbott and Costello continue to mock horror classics, and in subsequent films they encounter the Invisible Man, Jekyll (Hyde), and the Mummy.
