Scientist and teacher Norman Spencer lives with his wife Claire. One day she sees the ghost of a girl. When Claire manages to establish a connection with her and understand why the girl is so persistent in trying to "get through" to her, the couple's lives are turned upside down.

A completely American, as opposed to all the 'Curses', 'Ringers' and 'Dark Waters', a story about ghosts and drownings.

Of course, the idea may have come from Asia, but the movie has no prototypes, and for that it should already be appreciated.

Before us is not a horror movie, but a very entertaining mystical thriller. A picture in which almost everything is perfect: music, direction, acting. But the plot, the idea and the main intrigue of which is given away by the slogan. That's why half of all the intended suspense disappears even before viewing.

However, the mystical component of the movie is expressed, written out and played very effectively. And if you watch the movie alone, it even becomes a bit creepy. And therefore I would not recommend to people who are frightened to watch it.

But putting aside this argument against it, we will give another rather weighty argument for it. In the movie there is no bloody massacre, and bloody scenes in fact. All of this is more than paid for by Michelle Pfeiffer's superb performance.

And who says a horror movie doesn't have to be beautiful?
