The situation is as follows: since this film is somewhat autobiographical, it cannot be evaluated from just one perspective. Not only am I a big fan and connoisseur of what is undoubtedly the best sport of all, namely boxing, but I also know quite a lot about its history.

If you know as much about boxing as you do about which came first, the chicken or the egg, then the film is more than a success. The actors' performances are brilliant, and the script is magnificent, if not genius, then at least very high quality. It is the life story of a once-prominent boxer who, by chance, became a nobody, and then, after going through fire, water, and copper pipes, regained what he once rightfully deserved. A story in and out of the ring. A story of a smooth rise, then an even smoother fall, and finally, another rise, but unlike the first time, a difficult one, built on pain, blood, nerves, tears, and sweat. In the end, it is not so much the story of one man, but the story of the people who loved him, who went through all the joys with him, but when grief struck, they all remained loyal to him. All in all, it's a great movie. And if names such as Lennox Lewis or Floyd Mayweather (there's no point in listing any more) are familiar to you only from distant hearsay, then this film is definitely for you. Watch it, experience it, and rejoice that there are still people capable of making such films.
