Review 4K Movie

The Sound of Music is a musical film released back in 1965.

The plot: the film is set in the city of Salzburg. Maria, a young girl, wants to become a nun, but because of her lively character, she is sent from the convent to the home of sea captain Georg Ludwig von Trapp as a governess for his seven (!) children. At first, the children were not very friendly towards her (as is usually the case) and tried to be mischievous, but after Maria introduced them to singing, they loved her with all their hearts!

A wonderful film. First of all, you pay attention to that era, that time. After all, cinema in the last century was very different from what is filmed now. It has a special atmosphere! You can feel the hard work of the director, screenwriters, and actors—after all, you can't hide behind “special effects” (there simply weren't any at the time). I studied that period a lot, and of course, it wasn't easy for the actors to film; the rules were strict, the filming was difficult, and you had to meet certain parameters. This is Hollywood, everything is serious! And, of course, a lot of time is devoted to every detail. That's why we see long scenes that reveal every nuance of the action.

I really liked two songs in this film (I even had to add them to my playlist): the famous “My Favorite Things” and “Sixteen Going On Seventeen,” which was a discovery for me.

I also want to mention the actors, in particular, four actors:

- Julie Andrews: as Maria. Throughout the film, I thought, “That's Nadezhda Rumyantseva from the film ‘The Queen of the Gas Station,’” and I was surprised to learn that Rumyantseva voiced the character. Of course, Andrews was perfect for this role, which was simply made for her. And what else should I mention? Her natural beauty! No altered faces, a pleasure to watch.

- Christopher Plummer: as Captain Georg von Trapp. I didn't recognize Plummer at all. I got to know him when he was already older. In his youth, he was a different person. But I really liked the character (although there wasn't much to “play” in this role, the actor is very charismatic, which helped his character).

- Charmian Carr: as Liesl, Georg von Trapp's first child. I am simply in awe of the actress's beauty. Her smile, her eyes - she is a very beautiful girl who became the highlight of the film.

- Kim Carraway: as Grethel, Georg von Trapp's seventh child. A charming little girl. I watched her the whole time, waiting to see what she would do or say next. It was very interesting to watch her.

An excellent film for female audiences. It will be appreciated most by those who love musicals and “old” films. Other viewers will most likely not like it, as much as I regret to say.
