Story Movie

Determined to avenge his brother's death, the sheriff conducts his own investigation. He tracks down the Faerfly family and hires brutal killers, the so-called elusive couple, to take down the villains. The most brutal and sophisticated torture pales in comparison to the meat grinder that awaits the sheriff's enemies.

Review 4K Movie

Let me start by saying that this film is, without exaggeration, brilliant. Of all Rob Zombie's few films, this is the best. However, after my mother, sister, and friend watched this film, they did not share my lofty feelings about this work of cinematic art. Apparently, this film is not for everyone.

On the one hand, it is a direct sequel to House of 1000 Corpses, but on the other hand, it is a completely different film with characters you have seen before and whose past you remember from somewhere. I don't know how I would have reacted to the film without having seen the first part, but I watched both films back to back. And during those three hours, it was as if I had lived the lives of every member of the Firefly family.

The idea behind the film is banal to the point of absurdity. How many times have we seen families with outright maniacal tendencies? But the Fireflies are, first and foremost, a family of people, personalities, characters with different attitudes towards each other and the world around them. Each character is thought out to the smallest detail. When you look at a character, it's as if you've known them for years. In this film, the main characters are Otis, Captain Spalding, and the beautiful Baby. In general, the actors in the film are more than well-chosen: Bill Moseley and Sid Haig are veterans of the horror genre who know their stuff, Sheri Moon Zombie is just incredibly sexy (and isn't that enough?), William Forsythe is a cult actor whose name in the credits is a mark of quality, Ken Foree is another first-class horror movie actor, and I personally adore Danny Trejo for his “versatility.” It was also nice to see Diamond Dallas Page, a well-known wrestler in the recent past. Rob Zombie knows who to invite to attract the special attention of fans of the genre (just look at the cast of the 2007 film Halloween).

But I don't worship this film because of the actors, but for a completely different reason. I don't know if the director did it on purpose or if it happened by accident, but the film made me forget who was the maniac and who was the victim for most of the time and feel all the twisted “romance” of being a maniac. From the very beginning of the film, I empathized with the killers and was happy when they managed to leave their home and get to the motel. Then came that twisted “romance.” And when the sheriff started to take revenge, I finally switched sides to the maniacs. Well, after such a heroic ending to the film, all my last doubts disappeared, and I realized that the Fireflies were the real heroes.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so, as this film won the ‘Film of the Year’ award at the ‘Scream 2006’ horror and fantasy film awards ceremony.

I may be wrong, but I think Rob Zombie can't get any better than this film.
