Review 4K Movie

What a fantastic movie this is. I really enjoyed watching it—it has a romantic element, great chemistry between the characters, a solid script, and, of course, excellent acting. It seems simple, but it’s done with great taste.

Of course, it’s hard to imagine that such a story could happen in real life, since it’s hard to imagine that an actress at the height of her popularity and a bookstore owner could fall in love and be drawn to each other. But this is cinema, and that’s why we love it—it has a brilliant artistic vision and interesting plot twists.

I really loved the chemistry between Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. It’s all written all over their faces; you could just pick it up and read it like a book. You can see two people who are in love with each other. It becomes apparent almost immediately after they meet. Even when Will tells Anne about apricots, it becomes absolutely obvious. He says such nonsense that it makes you laugh, and she just listens and listens. Because even then, she’s already falling for him. Yes, they’re from different social classes. But that’s exactly what makes the story so compelling. She’s so successful, and he’s so simple, yet very smart and capable—the way he fought his way through to see her or how he told her about the book was impressive. He comes across as a very well-read person.

I’d also highlight the final scene. There’s so much beauty in it. And yet he’s reading a book. It was symbolic and very beautiful.

Julia Roberts. To be honest, I’ve never been attracted to this actress physically—you could even say she repelled me. But her acting is undoubtedly top-notch. She has played various characters, and most of the time, her performances have been top-notch. Her character Anna is immediately likable; she’s unaccustomed to such a simple life—she’s always busy, constantly filming, dealing with reporters, and so on. When she meets Will, she becomes completely absorbed in this simple life. She did an excellent job portraying her character from different angles. She captured the state of being in love best of all.

Hugh Grant. Hugh is every bit as good as Julia. He carries himself with confidence and calm. His character evokes only positive emotions; he is calm, balanced, and very well-read. He looks great alongside Julia and complements her perfectly. He makes her seem much better than she actually is.

This film is a great illustration of a rather strange kind of love, but one that is very appealing and captivating. Definitely a must-have for your collection, and one to watch more than once.

And there are quite a few supporting characters here who are entertaining. Take Will’s neighbor Spike, for example. Rhys Evans is hilarious.
