Story Movie

In a small British town, life goes on as usual; people fall in love, get married, and don't pay much attention to what's happening in the world. Meanwhile, in Iran, tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are escalating.

Review 4K Movie

I hesitated for a long time about whether to watch this movie. I was put off by various negative reviews saying that the film wasn’t for the faint of heart and that it left a bad aftertaste. I’m glad I didn’t listen to anyone.

Just as I expected, the movie didn’t leave me feeling good. From the very beginning, I was weighed down by the tense atmosphere—it was clear that, as in any war, there would be no happy ending. Disgust, a sense of inevitability, and fear were just some of the emotions I experienced while watching it. For the rest of the day, I felt a sense of unease; not a single bright thought crossed my mind. But it was precisely these feelings—even if they were negative—that sparked thoughts in my mind about how important it is to preserve peace. It’s scenes like these that make people reflect on just how dangerous nuclear weapons are.

The plot is based on the lives of ordinary people who live and work, completely unaware of what could happen to their world in a single day. That’s how most of us live. We all involuntarily shudder every time we hear the words “nuclear weapons” on the news, but only a small fraction of us ever stop to think about where all of this might lead. Many people don’t care. They don’t care until that very hour of the nuclear apocalypse arrives.

While watching the film, I was most struck by the words of one woman who survived the bombing: “I want to die.” The world turns into hell, life loses all meaning, people cease to be human, and the will to live vanishes. As cynical as it may sound, a person would be lucky to die in a nuclear explosion. I was also deeply troubled by the behavior of a pregnant woman; a question arose in my mind: Is it worth bringing this child into the world? Would the child even want to live in this world? I don’t know what I would have done in her place.

The film depicts very realistic scenes of the world after a nuclear war and the effects of all the devastating factors of nuclear weapons. The film will make everyone think about just how horrific the consequences can be.
