Director Ryan Johnson understood that now you will not surprise anyone with an ordinary detective story. Therefore, this picture is very multifaceted, and does not carry in itself only a plot with an investigation into the murder. In my opinion, this is precisely the manifestation of the magnificent script work. Absolutely every detail ultimately affects the outcome of the film. The good news is that the film is not based on any work. This is a purely original work. Which suggests that the detective genre of cinema is alive and well, and is not going to die.

On the unique style: After watching the film, you notice how well the film was correctly and clearly built. From it literally blows perfectionism. Absolutely everything in the frame, each dropped word of the characters, subsequently affects the plot and its further outcome. And even if the item was added just like that, then in the future it will be played in a humorous way. After all, this is not only a great detective story. We must not forget that this is a comedy. And the humor in this film is subtle and relevant. He does not go too far and does not make fun of any modern problems. Which tells us that this picture can be advised to their descendants and they will almost get bored.

About the casting: Chris Evans in the role of the selfish and arrogant Ransom Robinson is simply gorgeous. Daniel Craig in the role of an intelligent and in his kind, but cunning detective Benoit Blanc was amazing. Both actors played the same characters for a long time, which did not allow them to reveal themselves as actors. However, in this film they showed the upper class. However, not only that pleases. The film has the perfect balance between famous and beloved actors and actors unfamiliar viewers. In particular, Anna De Armas, in the role of a modest and good-natured servant Marta Cobrero, showed herself at the height. I hope to see her in other films. Even for small roles, quite successful types of actors were selected. All this is a manifestation of the good work of casting a movie.

About the director: Ryan Johnson is not the most famous director. However, after viewing this picture, I became convinced that he was a good craftsman. And his work is commendable. Having looked through the list of his films, I understood why I came to one or another of his works. In particular, several episodes from the series "Breaking Bad". A rather unusual episode about the Fly and, perhaps, the best series of the series - “Ozimandia”. It was he who had a hand in these series. And being independent of producers and of various studios, Johnson can make truly high-quality films.

As a result: It turned out a very solid film, ideally combining elements of a comedy and a detective. A noir classic atmosphere is only in favor of this picture. Of the minuses, I can only note sharp jumps in the speed of narration. At the beginning, the plot goes smoothly and measuredly, introducing us to each of the characters individually. However, the film subsequently accelerates the pace, increasing tension. And then the film again leads a calm and measured story. Because of what, sometimes an imbalance occurred. But overall, after watching I was impressed. I hope the film pays off at the box office and the number of such films will only grow.
