Story Movie

After the crisis, the financial situation of the married couple David and Diana has deteriorated greatly. At stake is the house they recently bought on credit. Not finding a better option, they go to Las Vegas to try to win money. There, at the gaming table, they meet billionaire John Gage, who likes Diana so much that he, with David's consent, offers her to spend a night with him for a million dollars.

A very contradictory movie! Emotions swept over my head at the end of the movie - as far as everything is not real, fake, so the main character and this billionaire are two peas in a pod. She - adventurer, who, apparently, bored monotonous life with an uninteresting architect, for which it is necessary throughout the apartment to pick up things, and then suddenly there is such an imposing man who is not sorry to lose a million dollars at once. Why not?

Then we are shown all the human flaws and disadvantages. From the main character's side - again, not much resistance to the man who ruined her life with the man she loves, from the husband's side - silly suspicions and displays of self-pity in the last stage, but from a kind of noble billionaire - the desire to prove to everyone and everything that money can buy everything. Actually his last gesture can be regarded in the same way - cynically, as well as everything he does - he just played his game, proved to himself what he wanted, fulfilled his desire, achieved what he so passionately wished, and now he can pretend that he acted nobly. I don't deny it - he's attractive in his self-will, but when you start to think about the essence of his actions, the appeal fades.

But Diane, of course... that's something else. To fall so quickly into the arms of a man who ruined her happiness without blinking an eye. Well, what was she missing? Money to pay her debts? But they were worthless as it was. Love? I don't think so. Luxury? That's right. It's convenient to love the rich. A beautiful courtship, everyone is envious, enraptured, especially those for whom it is an unattainable dream. But he ruined her family!!! How can you be with a man after that?

But why doesn't she hate you? It's a mystery.

I don't know which review to stop at, because it seems there's something appealing about this movie, but on the other hand it's also strongly repulsive. So again I will choose neutral, but compared to my previous neutral reviews, where the attitude to the film is really neutral, in this case the meter jumps from side to side like a metronome.
