Story Movie

One day, people started disappearing in Tokyo. First, a young man who had developed a unique computer program that made communication between people easier than ever disappeared. His friends searched for him for several days, until his girlfriend came to his house and found the guy's shadow on the wall, which had melted away like smoke and left traces of some unknown substance.

Review 4K Movie

Another variation on the theme of apocalypse. By the way, communication systems are waiting for us here, although I didn't quite understand exactly how they affect us. I think it's a very original idea, considering that no one has ever approached this problem with such a scale - people start to simply disappear, but before that they have to go through an unpleasant test. Apparently, it's again connected with ghosts, though I can't say for sure, as there's a lot of stuff mixed in here. In fact, that's what piqued my interest: while I was trying hard to understand the reasons for the disappearance of people, watching the characters closely, the movie took a completely unexpected path of complete contemplation, just to wait for the end and the explanation of the reasons. In general, the central stories here are two stories, or rather, the lives of two different groups of people, who are united by a common idea: in both cases, their loved ones start to disappear. While our heroes deal with the incident, they are gradually left alone.

I think the theme of loneliness is important here, because it is not so rare that our attention is drawn to something like these words: “Death is not the end of loneliness”. This is probably the meaning of everything that happened, and a lot happened there in a short time. I always wondered where the Japanese got so many ideas, though the beginning of the film seemed a bit boring to me, by the middle I was watching the movie with pleasure and, admittedly, I didn't notice how the end came.

This is a movie to think about. There is nothing frightening on the level of perception of pictures. Again psychology and appeal to the self. You should not look for some American templates in Japanese horror. I was also pleased that there were no dead girls with long hair in this movie. Not that I don't like them a lot, but sometimes they get boring. There is a slightly unpleasant “aftertaste”, but it's probably because there is no happy ending. And I like good endings... However, more and more often I begin to think that in our world it can't be otherwise.

Verdict: “Pulse” is, in my opinion, an interesting movie about the importance of being with someone and trusting them. Who knows what can happen in our lives, and when the moment comes to ask for help, who to turn to then? You have to think about your life.
