A low-budget Australian movie with an uncomplicated plot and unknown actors - who would have thought it would be so interesting...

'Wolf Creek' contains a cautionary aspect, reminding that responsiveness is not always selfless, and often you should not rely on the first impression of a person - it can lead to unpredictable consequences, which was experienced by the heroes of the movie. By the way, there is no mysticism here, as the synopsis mentions. And it couldn't be otherwise, because the movie is based on real events, and its main value is in its striking realism, which is what makes it so appealing.

The plot, of course, is not new, but against the background of other similar pictures “Wolf Creek” looks much more favorable, in which we must give credit to the excellent writing and directing work of Greg McLean.

Despite the fact that the horror starts here 40 minutes before the finale, the movie, in my opinion, does not look dragged out at all and certainly not boring, as it seemed to some viewers. After all, during the time that the heroes are traveling, we have time to get to know each of them better. And it should be noted that the first half of the picture looks with no less interest. The whole thing - in a competent presentation.

On the example of “Wolf Creek” once again you are convinced that even little-known actors can play not worse than some stars, which was proved by Cassandra Magrath, Kesti Morassi, Nathan Phillips. Their emotions, screams, hysterics - everything was very natural. But I would like to single out John Jarrett, whose character turned out to be very colorful and, undoubtedly, memorable. Looking at him, it was hard to believe that he was just an actor - so convincingly and harmoniously he got into his role, that with just his look (coupled with a creepy smile) inspires genuine fear. In short, his acting was terrific.

With a minimum of bloody scenes, so often used in films of this genre, this picture nevertheless can not help but horrify. This is largely due to the masterfully charged atmosphere (at one point the growing anxiety is felt so clearly that it becomes uncomfortable), and of course, the aforementioned acting is also important.

The movie is complemented by magnificent landscapes of Australia. What is worth only the view of the crater, which is simply breathtaking!...

A perfect movie for its genre. Frankly speaking, I don't want to look for flaws, which, however, there are none.

This is more than just a horror movie. This is life, because it could happen to anyone.....
