It's time to introduce in the category of horror, such a sub-genre as clown horror. And let its representatives are quite rare on the screen, but these faces in masks and makeup have already firmly occupied their niche in the cinematography and correctly scare both children and adults. After all, perhaps there is nothing more alarming than a good-natured clown in a smiling mask with a knife in his hand. Perhaps the hallmark of killer clowns is the iconic Pennywise from 'It', the image of which I think few people left indifferent and tickled the nerves of more than one generation of viewers. The recent success of the remake only confirmed it. Although in my memory is firmly lodged exactly the image of the sample of 1990. From the representatives of the genre can still remember the old 'Killer Clowns from Outer Space', Victor Salva's 'House of Clowns' and the rather entertaining, though thrashy 'Stitches' of 2012.

Slasher 'Terrifying' introduces us to a new killer face - a silent clown named Art, whose image turned out to be quite textured and frightening, even added and disgusting. In the picture there are no computer setspezspezsffects, the old good make-up and other fake tricks are used, which gives the movie some old-school and even realistic. The movie is not a breakthrough, but at the same time it doesn't seem typical and stale, but I'll say right away that it's very bloody and not too violent. I strongly do not recommend its viewing to the female half (I am not talking about children, everything is clear here) and to impressionable people in general, because some shots are repulsive by their abomination, I mean the moment with a hacksaw to a greater extent. Here all the massacres, dismemberment and other mutilations of the human organism are not behind the scenes, but shown in close-up and with some sadistic savoring.

To say something about the plot seems to be a difficult task, because there is no plot as such, as well as sensible explanations of what is going on. We have a strange introduction, and then the progressive development of the theme: maniac - victims. Two tipsy friends returning from a Halloween party, unable to drive a car, go to a local eatery, where our hero in quotes with a garbage bag behind his back wanders in. That's the whole plot. And further a continuous bloody action with the use of various stabbing and cutting tools and not only. With its gratuitous and merciless violence the movie reminded something of Alexander Azhi's 'Bloody Harvest'.

There is no humor in the film, the one that is there can be called not even black, but the blackest. The moment with the return selfies after the hacksaw stands out. Art's performances and grimaces are not comical either. The actors are quite convincing in the roles of victims. Well, the main character appears as a kind of infernal creature, whose motivation and origin remained behind the scenes. The ending doesn't give any answers either, but only puzzles, confusing the already unclear narrative line. Technical and visual errors are certainly present, but they are not very striking. And to look for logic in such movies is not a waste of time at all.

So, in general, we are facing a rather untypical horror movie with rivers of blood, a sea of violence and bloodthirsty antagonist, whose atrocities and cruelty can surprise even sophisticated fans of bloodbaths, to whom this movie is recommended. The rest of us should probably save our psyche.
