Another mediocre sequel to the cult and extraordinary slasher, released in the late seventies. Why did it happen, why is everything so bad? This picture is nothing more than a direct sequel to the original two films by John Carpenter, safely ignoring all the events of the third film. The plot revolves around the seemingly deceased in 'Halloween 2', Michael Myers, who is now being treated in a psychiatric dispensary. One fine night, of course, on the eve of Halloween, this figure escapes from custody, and chooses a new victim for himself as an object of hunting: his eight-year-old niece.

Actually, it is from this moment that the complete absurdity begins: was not Michael Myers blinded by shots in the eyes, in the very finale of 'Halloween-2'? Not a word is said about this here. It is also completely incomprehensible how the long-suffering maniac managed to find his eight-year-old niece, which he had never seen before. With the sister from the first two parts, everything was very clear: in the second part we were shown a flashback in which young Laurie visits her brother who has run out of steam in a psychiatric dispensary, and even addresses him by name. And then what? How did he recognize his young relative among hundreds of such little girls, how did he determine her place of residence? The script is silent as tactfully as in the case of the gouged out eyes.

Further: the plot itself does not imply even a little variety for us. Only the 'static' actors have changed, none of whom is even trying to act. You will not see any of them in any more or less famous film. But the cult Donald Plasens returned to the big screen, although in this case he returned, completely unconvincing, even more unconvincing than old Myers himself. Of course, they will not give us any explanation about how such a miracle the old man survived in that monstrous fire. Well, okay also Michael Myers, he is still the very 'embodiment of evil' but how did a decrepit pensioner survive the explosion of a gas cylinder right in front of his face? The writers don't even try to explain it somehow, survived and that's it. Michael Myers himself has departed quite far from his original image of a quiet, attacking maniac from the dark, turning rather into a clone of Jason: now he throws people into transformers, and climbs the roofs of houses, and crushes his head with his bare hands and even nips one particularly lustful girl to wall with a shotgun! Thrash and nothing else.
