American Zephyr arrives in Australia's Gold Coast in search of the best surfing spot. She meets a nice guy and spends the night with him, but, not wanting to continue the relationship, she goes to the beach, where she is kidnapped by a shark-obsessed psychopath — a serial killer who feeds his victims to toothy predators.

On the crest of maniacal shark waves. An entertaining film, but not for everyone.

I've never gone diving anywhere, especially with sharks (although I have been to aquariums—it's still similar to diving when you walk or ride on a conveyor belt, and there's water and fish all around you behind the glass). And ever since I saw Jacques-Yves Cousteau's films (or how do you decline that correctly?), I've loved all kinds of films about underwater stuff. There were also Jaws. Although I like science fiction films like The Abyss (1989) more.

We are somewhere where they drive right-hand drive cars. It looks like Australia. To get us started, we are introduced to a couple, but they are not the main characters. The main characters will appear later, meeting when he asks her to start his car, which he bought, as I didn't quite hear clearly, from his mother... The main character (quite wealthy) and the main heroine (an eccentric, a vagabond on wheels — here we need to find out the backstory, since usually no one lives that kind of life just like that) both love surfing. And so, in the course of a conversation about something or other, she first gave him a ride in her car, then he gave her a ride, as happens in Western movies. That's all there is to the romance, but that's not the point.

We also have an antagonist, whom the authors emphasize vividly, that is, unambiguously and immediately. But we know little about him. He is a collector of certain cassettes and hair, and he also likes to feed sharks in a certain way.

The film has good visuals. It's fresh. The beach is beautiful. The main character is moderately attractive. The sound is okay, with maniacal thumping. The plot is not outstanding, but it has a certain freshness for those who are tired of traditional maniacs.
