John Robie was once a consummate professional thief known as The Cat. The Cat was lucky, he managed to quit in time and leave nicely - having accumulated a capital, he retired and lived an elegant life on the French Riviera. But the refined and quiet life comes to an end after someone starts robbing the rich, exactly in Robie's style. As suspicions reasonably fall on John, he decides to find his imitator by all means.

Hitchcock touches on the theme of innocence again and again. I wonder what is the reason for this phobia of the king of suspense? The phobia of being undeservedly accused, which he so assiduously realized in each of his films.

The pairing of Cary Grant and Grace Kelly gift this movie, perhaps the main one.

A solid enough detective story, not the best compared to Hitchcock's other works, nor is it the most original, but it's on the level. I personally did not guess who is copying Robie, who is the thief, although when I found out who is the thief, I was surprised that I did not guess at once.

The chase scene from the police, driving Grace Kelly is shot brilliantly, that it was breathtaking, such in modern movies that are not often seen, and Hitchcock managed with those modest opportunities that were before to create a spectacular chase. I don't know why, but I was impressed by this scene, although it doesn't play any important role in the movie.
