Story Movie

The Expendables 3 4K 2014 Ultra HD 2160p
Barney, Christmas and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks, who years earlier founded the Unstoppable team with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently becomes a ruthless arms dealer and thus becomes the man Barney was tasked with killing. Or at least he thought so himself. Now Stonebanks, who has already cheated death once, has set his sights on ending the Unstoppable - but Barney has plans of his own. Barney decides that a "fresh" approach to his fight can counteract the old ways, and replenishes the ranks with people who are younger, faster, and more technically savvy. Thus a new era begins for the members of the Unstoppable team. The final mission turns into a clash between the classic old school and the experts in high technology.

Review 4K Movie

The first thing that immediately catches the eye in the third "The Expendables" is the consequences of the "childish" rating PG-13, which does not imply the presence of a high level of violence or at least blood in the frame. The previous two films were rated R and featured high levels of violence, which incidentally caused Chuck Norris to refuse further participation in the franchise's projects.

The second point that is perplexing concerns the plot structure of the movie. The third part follows almost in the footsteps of its predecessor in the sense that here everything starts exactly the same way as there - there is the main villain, aka Mel Gibson, who tries to kill one of Barney Ross' guys, for which the latter sets a goal of revenge. Next it turns out that the veterans of Unstoppable are no more, and Barney needs a new team. Having recruited some young brats, Sly sets off.

It's a little annoying to see this action movie constantly claiming to be a drama with a strong plot. Especially since there is no strong plot here. The creators clearly gave up their positions in terms of action and other action, because it all looks kind of dull: a lot of talking, a lot of completely inappropriate moments. In general, the general impression of watching it is as if it was filmed not in Hollywood, and not by professionals, but by amateurs on an amateur camera.

Perhaps the strongest aspect of "The Expendables 3" is the abundance of stars on the screen. Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas are added to the familiar guys. Moreover, Gibson is very good in the role of the main villain, and at the same time an old friend of Barney Ross.

The attempt of screenwriters to play the conflict of generations in the movie fails almost with a bang. And it's clear why. Because the viewer wants to see the classic heroes of the 80s and 90s kicking ass bad guys. And in the end he gets an incomprehensible hodgepodge with a slant on the franchise "Mission Impossible". Natural action appears here only in the last 30-40 minutes of screen time.

On the one hand, the movie seems to have almost all the same things that were there before. But on the other hand, you look at it and realize that something is wrong here. And this feeling doesn't leave the whole movie. And the reason for this is that the franchise has simply "popped" to the uttermost. Though the previous two movies could not boast of anything out of the box, but here there is just a set of banal clichés on the screen.

Summarizing all of the above, it turns out that: "The Expendables 3" was the weakest movie of the series. It seems as if we should wait for the fourth part, where there will be even more famous old guys, but so far the second part remains the best by right.
