Agent Hellboy together with his partner from the Bureau of Investigation of Paranormal Activity find themselves in a remote village. Here a certain Hunchback terrorizes the locals - making bloody contracts with people, he collects their souls and subjugates them to his will.

The previous Hellboy movie, 2019, was nominated for several categories of the most famous anti-Raspberry Awards, including “Worst sequel or remake”, but, to me, that picture was an epic visual ride with good dynamics and ridiculous dialogues, which for the adaptation of the Hellboy story has a place. Project 2024, on the other hand, doesn't even have that....

The only thing that caught my eye while watching it was a couple of pathos angles, inherent in the movies about this character. But otherwise it's some kind of fake, not a film adaptation. The atmosphere is just about nothing. The first half an hour you still feel that something interesting is about to start: we are shown a mysterious forest, strange locals, taught to create “witches' balls”, as in the original comic book. But then absolutely nothing happens that would help to shake up the plot. It's as if all the creators' creativity went to one third of the picture, and then they just tell the story, because, well, our movie can't go only half an hour

None of the antagonists presented evokes a sense of danger. The witch causes rather Spanish shame, and the Hunchback looks good, but his unchanging face starts to bore by the second appearance. Besides, the movie didn't show why exactly he always walks with his neck bent and crunches it: in the comic book there was a rather creepy scene with Hunchback's hanging, which added some background to this villain

The locations in the movie are insanely sparse and not imbued with any interesting flavor. There are too many moments where half of what is happening on the screen is blurred out, which combined with scenes in dark rooms make the project a good soporific! The minuses are also the unbelievable assistant, the feeling that Hellboy is not so necessary in this story, and the special effects that give themselves away almost from the first scene where they are used. As far as I'm concerned, this is the most passable installment in the baked hero franchise so far.
