'Baby Sheba' is the last of four classic blacksploitation films starring Pam Grier. Here she plays Sheba Shane, a Chicago policewoman. Bandits threaten Sheba's father and she has to return to her hometown to deal with them. The main villain, as it was not difficult to guess, was played by a white actor - Dick Merrifield. Of the rest, Austin Stoker, a certain D'Urville Martin and several other regular exploitation actors were memorable.

Many believe that the plot of 'Baby Sheba' is more reminiscent of a TV series than a full-fledged film intended for the big screen. The image of Grier herself has undergone major changes in this film. She has settled down, and unlike the earlier 'Coffey', she plays very professionally (as much as this genre requires of her). But if in 'Coffey' Pam's role was more interesting and original, then here the script's exhaustion is obvious. It was clear from the very beginning that such a cool girl as Sheba would be able to get out of all the troubles and give all the criminals of Louisiana their just deserts... Although the film has its advantages. It is impossible not to note the mastery of some of its scenes. For example, the episode with the car wash and on Shark's yacht. The latter even made me believe for a moment that this was Pam's best film.

Thanks to the camera work and editing, it turned out to be a very dynamic and interesting picture. The main thing is to tune in to the right wave. Then you might like this film... In my opinion, it is a typical "action movie" with Pam, no worse and no better than others.
